The show of two halves: Astoria

2007.04.25. 10:11 gg

Yes, we are way behind the news... Unfortunately we couldn't manage such a huge group to London, Astoria like last year, Tempodrom, Berlin, but a few of us were there and will report soon.

Until then, you can read a very detailed report on The Archive Plus written by Andy with a special kind of feeling, or join the Yahoogroup debate - tell us whether it was a Karaoke night or not.

What we surely know is that the show consisted of a vocal block at first until approximately half time, then an instrumental, "regular" TD set was performed on stage. Setlist is still not known. (Thx Andy for the photo!)

Update: setlist has arrived, thx Chris!

Cheers :) Your're cheeky chaps for not asking to use the photo though ;)...just kidding lads! :D :D
It's a shame I didn't say hello down the pub, I did see a few of you in those excellent t-shirts (looks like you have rivals now with the Irish fans club :D). I didn't know who was who, othewise I would have bought you a beer and said thanks for your excellent site and continued support of the worlds greatest electronic Rock band. Here's to the next time.

ps. Hope to see a complete Hungarian fan write up of the gig and your trip to London (I hope you enjoyed everything)

pps. I now have screen grabs of the MFD DVD on my blog, should you want to check it out before you buy it:

Finally the real shame was that I couldn't manage to attend Astoria - still waiting for a recording... :) Three of us were there, we are waiting for their report.

That's a real shame mate. All I can add is that the live recording is a belter...and you'll love it! :)

Tangerine Dream will perform a very special show on 1st July 2007 at the city of EBERSWALDE, about
1 hour drive from the city of BERLIN. This show will be an OPEN AIR gig and FREE of charge, so no ticket dazzles, the huge market place holds up to approx. 10,000 people.

Background story of this gig: On the 1st of July Eberswalde celebrates the opening of its new "Paul-Wunderlich-House" a huge public building complex including an Art Center with permanent exhibitions of the famous painter and sculptor PAUL WUNDERLICH who was born in Eberswalde and became 80 years now. The highly acclaimed surrealist artist has given his name to the Center. You will find Paul Wunderlich's paintings and sculptures within the art collections of Tina Turner, Elton John, Madonna and many others. So it is an honour for Tangerine Dream to celebrate this opening with a very special concert and light show. The gig will start at 10 pm and will run approx. 1 hour 30 minutes. You will also have the chance to visit the exhibition to see the artworks of Paul Wunderlich.

Tangerine Dream & Terry Riley will have a special concert at the ALTE OPER in FRANKFURT on the Main
on the 7th October 2007 at 8 pm.

The Master of Minimal Music Mr. Terry Riley will perform together with TD new and older works. The first half of the gig will be a performance of TD material only while the second half will be a collaboration between Terry Riley and Tangerine Dream. More infos on both gigs as well as TICKET LINKS for the Frankfurt gig coming soon.
